The Estuary in San Jose del Cabo

In the heart of San Jose del Cabo, just 20 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, you'll find the Estero San Jose. This is a jaw-dropping tropical estuary, a great spot for bird watching, kayaking and wandering along intertwining paths. Estero San Jose was created by the fresh waters of Rio San jose meeting the salt waters of the sea. In total, the estuary consists of about 125 acres of marshlands.

As one of the only sure water sources in Southern Baja, many bird and animal species depend on the estuary for fresh water. This areas boasts over 250 species of birds!
